Board of Directors & Executive Committee
The Board of Directors is elected by the Plenary Assembly, and is composed of 15 elected members as follows:
- 3 representatives of different parliaments from each of the four sub-regions, namely North America, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean, for a total of 12
- The positions of President, 1st Vice-President, and President of the Group of Women Parliamentarians – who also serves as 2nd Vice-President
- The immediate past-president, a representative of the host country of the next Plenary Assembly, and the Director General of ParlAmericas also sit on the Board of Directors, as non-voting members
There are five Standing Committees of the Board of Directors, namely:
- Fundraising
- Membership
- Plenary Assembly
- Nominations, and
- Projects & Programs
The Board of Directors meets three times per year, and offers guidance on the mandates and functions of all Board Committees.
The Board of Directors establishes a four-person Executive Committee composed of:
- the President
- the 1st Vice President
- the 2nd Vice President, and
- the Secretary Treasurer who is elected from among the Board members
The Executive Committee functions virtually, and meets face-to-face when needed. It monitors the implementation of strategy, governance, ethics, and communications.
