Plenary Assembly
The Plenary Assembly is the main forum for discussion and monitoring of ParlAmericas activities, and the highest decision-making body of the organization. It is attended by delegations of the national legislatures of the 35 member states within the Americas.
The Plenary Assembly is hosted by a different member state each time. Some of the most recent Plenary Assemblies have been hosted by countries as diverse as Paraguay, Mexico, and Canada.
Participants at the Plenary Assembly discuss issues of current interest in the hemisphere such as gender equality in politics, hemispheric security and integration, or economic and social development. Based on these discussions, they issue recommendations for their parliaments and other hemispheric bodies. The Plenary Assembly also elects a 15-member Board of Directors, representing the sub-regions of the hemisphere.
