Plenary Assemblies
Delegations of parliamentarians representing member national legislatures meet annually at the Plenary Assembly, where they discuss issues of current interest in the hemisphere such as gender equality in politics, hemispheric security and integration, and economic and social development.
The delegations aim to include members of different political parties, representatives of both chambers (in the case of bicameral legislatures), and both female and male delegates. Based on their discussions, they issue recommendations for their parliaments and other hemispheric bodies.
The Plenary Assembly is also the highest decision-making body of the organization. It elects a 15-member Board of Directors, representing all the sub-regions of the hemisphere.
Please contact the International Secretariat of ParlAmericas if you are interested in attending our Plenary Assembly as an official delegate or as an observer.
